FIYEE HONOURS HON. JOSHUA CHINEDU OBIKA WITH OUTSTANDING REPRESENTATIVE AWARD, SEEKS PARTNERSHIP ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The Forward Initiative for Youths Empowerment and Enlightenment (FIYEE) on Monday, 31st March 2026, paid a thank-you and award courtesy visit to Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member Representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
The courtesy visit took place at the Honourable Member’s Constituency Office, located at Kubwa, opposite Nipco Filling Station, before the pedestrian bridge along Kubwa Expressway.
The delegation was led by the President of FIYEE, Evangelist Engr. Kingsley Ubong Bassey, accompanied by executive members including Comrade Bam Augustine (Vice President), Lady Uyime Ibok (Financial Secretary), Miss Etimbuk Michael Ibok (Secretary), Comrade Ubong Emmanuel (National Public Relations Officer), Mr. Joshua Idowu Oluyemi (Spokesperson), Barrister Festus Ntong Junior (Legal Adviser), chief ikechukwu, Engr Asubike Morris, Cletus onyekachukwu. Dr Adebayo Adebesin. and other members of the organization.
In his opening remarks, Engr. Kingsley Bassey thanked Hon. Obika for his laudable representation and for granting the team audience, describing the gesture as "a clear demonstration of your accessibility, humility, and commitment to the people you serve."
The FIYEE President introduced the teams from African Independent Television (AIT) and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) present at the meeting. He described FIYEE as a God-inspired, youth-driven organization committed to empowerment, enlightenment and community development, stressing that "the future of our constituency lies in investing in our young people through supporting education in rural areas and creating platforms that give hope to the upcoming generation."
Miss Etimbuk Michael Ibok, who doubled as the Secretary and Master of Ceremony, disclosed that the visit was also to honour the lawmaker with an Outstanding Representative Award in recognition of his impactful leadership and dedication to youth and community development.
Comrade Ubong Emmanuel, the National Public Relations Officer, presented the vision and mission of FIYEE, and submitted a proposal for a Skills Enlightenment and Community Visibility Initiative, which he said would further strengthen the Honourable Member’s connection with the grassroots and amplify his good works across AMAC and Bwari.
Barrister Festus Ntong Junior, Legal Adviser of FIYEE, formally presented the Outstanding Representative Award plaque to Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika.
Obika Charges FIYEE on Signature Projects, Decries Collapse of LG System
In his response, Hon. Obika expressed appreciation to the President and executive members of FIYEE for the honour and the visit. He assured them of a good working relationship, but charged the organization to go back, conduct research, and come up with more signature projects and fresh proposals for implementation.
He noted that he has been carrying out the distribution of exercise books, bags and sanitary pads for some time, and encouraged the group to think of new ideas that would be of greater benefit to the people.
Speaking further, the lawmaker decried the collapse of the local government system, stating that the local government administration which should handle grassroots infrastructure "has collapsed and is dead." He called for the strong implementation of local government autonomy to revive development at the grassroots.
Giving the vote of thanks, the Financial Secretary, Lady Uyime Ibok, commended Hon. Obika for his humility and passion for service.
"Honourable Sir, we have followed your activities closely, and we are inspired by your passion for service. It is our desire to partner with you in initiatives that will touch lives differently and leave lasting legacies in our community. Once again, thank you for receiving us warmly. The event ended on a positive note with group photographs and assurances of collaboration between FIYEE and the office of Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika for the development of AMAC and Bwari Federal Constituency.
